Who is Sophie on ‘This Is Us’? Kate’s best friend and Kevin’s wife
Sophie met Kevin because she was Kate’s (Chrissy Metz) childhood best friend on This Is Us. When the Big Three turned 10, Kevin told his parents he loved Sophie. Then the two got together and started dating through their teen years.
Meanwhile, Kevin and Sophie got married while they were still young. At one point, the two were also separated by distance with Kevin in LA to pursue acting and Sophie in New York for school. But eventually, they broke up and got divorced.

That said, it seems Sophie and Kevin’s “for the ages” romance still speaks to Hartley and Breckenridge. When speaking on the Story + Rain Talks podcast, Hartley briefly opened up about the couple’s journey together.
“Sophie, the love of his life,” Hartley said. “I think it’s so cool that there’s this guy, 41 years old, a grown man, who’s been in love with the same girl for over 30 years.”
Then in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Breckenridge revealed that she’s still team Kophie on This Is Us.
“Ultimately, I hope that Kevin and Sophie end up together,” Breckenridge said.
