One of the biggest names moved at the trade deadline was CJ McCollum going from Portland to the Pelicans. The 30-year-old hasn’t disappointed in his new digs as his numbers are up across the board and he’s helped New Orleans get back into the race for a play-in spot. He and Brandon Ingram have formed a dynamic scoring duo, but is making that pair an NBA DFS stack for Tuesday a winning strategy for your daily Fantasy basketball lineups?
New Orleans takes on Memphis tonight and the two teams played just three weeks ago. In that game, McCollum and Ingram combined for 48 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds, as Ja Morant did not suit up for the other side. Should you expect similar production from the two Pels, or should your NBA DFS strategy look elsewhere? Before you make your NBA DFS picks for Tuesday, be sure to check out the NBA DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.
McClure is a DFS professional with nearly $2 million in career winnings. He’s also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account.
This allows him to find the best NBA DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They’re a must-see for any NBA DFS player.
On Monday, McClure listed Spurs guard Dejounte Murray as one of his top NBA DFS picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: Murray nearly had a triple-double with 26 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and three steals to return 57.5 points on DraftKings and 56 points FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.
Now, McClure has turned his attention to the Tuesday, March 8, NBA DFS slate and locked in his top daily Fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.
Top NBA DFS picks for Tuesday, March 8
One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks on Tuesday is Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is listed at $12,000 on DraftKings and $11,900 on FanDuel. The two-time MVP enters Tuesday with seven straight double-doubles and has averaged 31.1 points, 14.4 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.4 blocks over this stretch.
The Bucks take on the Oklahoma City Thunder which has been a sieve, defensively, to opposing power forwards. OKC has allowed the third-most Fantasy points to opposing PFs on both DraftKings and FanDuel, and Antetokounmpo has already taken advantage of the Thunder this year. In a November game, he filled up the box score with a 21-19-7-4-2 stat line. OKC also has seven players listed as out for Tuesday, including three starters, so Antetokounmpo should exploit a depleted Thunder squad.
Another part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering Suns point guard Cameron Payne ($5,300 on DraftKings and $6,600 on FanDuel). After being eased into action following a 15-game absence, Payne has been exceptional over his last two games. He had 17 points and 16 assists in a Friday win versus the Knicks and then followed that up with 23 points and eight assists vs. Milwaukee on Sunday.
Payne will get the start again on Tuesday with Chris Paul (thumb) out, and the Suns will also be missing Devin Booker (protocols) and Cameron Johnson (quad). Payne has logged at least 30 minutes in each of the last two games and should see a similar workload tonight with so many key players out. The 27-year-old is providing Paul-lite production when playing at least 30 minutes with averages of 18.6 points and 8.2 assists, so he’s a must-start for NBA DFS lineups.
