
ST. CLOUD — The Minnesota West college basketball teams were both victorious on the road Saturday. The women won convincingly and the men won by two.
Men
Bluejays 72, St. Cloud Tech 70
Five Minnesota West players scored in double figures in a close one.
Tyvorus Lawton scored 16 points, Christian Kyles had 13, Cortney Ligon 12, London Campbell 11 and Amos Alford 10.
The Bluejays have been inconsistent shooters for much of the season, but on Saturday their 51 percent accuracy from the field kept them ahead of Tech in the end. They snapped a 10-game losing streak with the triumph.
Campbell had 10 rebounds and Kyles had seven rebounds.
London Williams led St. Cloud Tech with 21 points.

Women
Lady Jays 76, St. Cloud Tech 58
The Lady Jays, now nationally ranked, showed why with a solid win against their Tech rivals.
Madisyn Huisman scored 15 points and had nine rebounds for the winners. Mackensie Post and Macie Werdel added 12 points apiece while Tia Murray had 11 and Hunter Garcia 9.
West hit 50 percent of their field goals compared to Tech’s 30.6 percent.
Allison Fritz scored 16 points to lead St. Cloud.
