Kim Wolfe’s education and career

Wolfe attended the University of Texas, San Antonio, and was running a bridal store called Bella Bridesmaids with her best friend Cayce Harris prior to joining ‘Survivor’ and becoming a household name. After she won the prize money she revealed that she was going to use a portion of it to improve her bridal store. In an interview with San Antonio magazine back in 2012, Wolfe explained her motivation to run her own business. She explained, “Being so young was largely why opening the store was so appealing. My best friend and I kept thinking that we didn’t want to look back when we’re 50 and say, ‘We really should have done that whole Bella Bridesmaid thing!’ I loved the concept: truly cool, fashionable, re-wearable bridesmaid dresses. When you’ve been in five-plus weddings, you get the brilliance of it.”

Her ‘Survivor’ win opened doors to many new opportunities for Wolfe including the job of a segment host on ‘Great Day SA’ where she hosted her own segment called ‘Kim’s Kart’. On ‘Kim’s Kart’ where she shared her favorite gadgets and accessories with the audience. She held the job until 2016 when she decided to pursue her passion for interior designing. She landed a job with the prestigious Kate Kingman of Kate Kingman Interiors. Wolfe eventually launched her own interior design brand called Kim Wolfe Home. In an interview with Southern Living Magazine she shared, ” “One of the hardest things about Survivor is how slowly time ticks by, but it also gives you an opportunity to think. I’d been doing a lot of interior design and realized that I wanted to start working on houses for myself. When I got home, I needed an outlet, so I poured my energy into flipping a property.”

Wolfe’s interior designing practice took off and managed to catch the eyes of HGTV producers and landed her own show called ‘Why the Heck Did I Buy This House?’ According to the show’s press release, Wolfe will be using her expertise to help homeowners spruce up their space. “Former CBS Survivor winner Kim Wolfe knows a thing or two about thriving in the wild—and now she’ll bring that tough tenacity and smart ingenuity to rescue homeowners with major buyer’s remorse in her San Antonio hometown. In the new seven-episode series Why the Heck Did I Buy This House?’ the designer, home renovator, and busy mom of three will use her expert skills to help clients who snapped up their home at first sight but are now stuck in lifeless spaces with dysfunctional layouts, outdated style and overlooked potential. Kim will go all in pouring concrete foundations, nailing roof beams, installing framing and hanging drywall to bring her design vision to life—and will make these families finally fall in love with their reinvented dream home.”

Thanks to her interior design practice and her ‘Survivor’ win, Wolfe has over the years managed to amass a net worth of an estimated $5 million! With her new HGTV show, her net worth is only set to see an upward trajectory.
