Christmas in Whoville!
Chautauqua County Safety Village, 2695 Route 394, Ashville, 5 to 7:30 p.m. Admission $5 per person, children 2 and under free. Take a picture with Santa, decorate a Christmas cookie with Mrs. Claus, see the North Pole Observation Station, meet the Grinch and visit his lair, walk among the floats in the stationary Christmas parade, make a craft, play games, try the scavenger hunt, enjoy the Whoville-decorated village.

Fly Fishing/Fly Tying Club
Meet at the Costello Community Room, Rockefeller Arts Center, SUNY Fredonia, at 7 p.m. Classes are open to everyone at the college and in the community. Classes and supplies are provided at no cost. From 10 a.m. to noon at the Dunkirk Public Library, 536 Central Ave., kids can ick up a craft kit with four crafts to make at home. All directions and pieces are included. A treat bag containing cand and small toy surprises will also be given out. All are welcome at this free event.

Dunkirk Composite Squadron Civil Air Patrol NY-351 laying of Remembrance wreaths
Civil Air Patrol members will help Forest Hill Cemetery in Fredonia to remember and honor our veterans by laying Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes at noon. Roger Tory Peterson Institute Holidays at the Lodge
311 Curtis St., Jamestown. All day, Art Fair presented by the Northern Chautauqua Arts Alliance. Lakeshore Humane Society open adoption hours
The Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk, will hold open adoption hours from noon to 3 p.m. For those who are not vaccinated, masks covering the nose and mouth must be worn at all times on the grounds of LHS. Masks are optional for those fully vaccinated. Those who are ill or have tested positive for COVID are asked to delay a visit. Tours of the facility will not be given. Audubon Community Nature Center Christmas with the Critters
1600 Riverside Road, Jamestown. From 10 to 11:30 a.m. Adults $8, Nature Center members $6, children 9 to 15, $6. Free 2 and under. Reservations appreciated. Visit ACNC for a holiday open house all about the critters! There will be live animals out and ready to visit, some animal specimens and artifacts to explore, a craft station to make a holiday gift for the wild critters, a behind-the-scenes eagle tour, and mini-presentations about the live animals every half hour. Admission for this event (or the Nature Center this day) may be a gift taken and purchased for the Giving Tree, located in ACNC’s lobby. Gifts should be wrapped and presented to the receptionist redeemable for admission. Cash and credit cards are accepted as well.

The Marvin Community House presents Dinner Theater: “All She Wants for Christmas” 2 W. Fifth St., Jamestown at 6 p.m. The dinner theater production stars Broadway performer Todd Wagner. The venue features an exhibit of decorated Christmas trees. Hundreds of ornaments were selected to show the materials used at the turn of the twentieth century.
