During the holidays, it is not too shocking to see massive crowds flood Walt Disney World Resort. With kids being out of school and many adults having some extra vacation time due to the holidays, it often seems that travel during this time would be a no-brainer.

Although Christmas is often busy, it seems that a lot of Guests choose to come visit as soon as Christmas is over for New Year’s Eve. Considering a sudden Disney vacation is always a great Christmas gift, the week following Christmas has become increasingly popular for many. We have been reporting on the crowds over the past few days, but it seems that the biggest set of crowds will be seen today and tomorrow.

All Disney theme park Guests, Resort Guests, and Annual Passholders can no longer purchase a ticket or make a Disney Park Pass reservation as all four Disney Parks are at capacity! With New Year’s Eve being tomorrow and knowing that Disney will be celebrating the festivities, unlike last year, we are not surprised to see this outcome. That being said, it is good for Disney Guests to know about the capacity limit being hit so that they can make alternate plans if they do not yet have a Disney Park Pass reservation. Disney Springs is also an option for those who will not be able to get into a Disney Park.
On December 31, Magic Kingdom Park will remain open until 1:00 am, with EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios remaining open until 12:00am. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is the one Disney Park that will close early sleep at 8:00 pm.
Below are the festivities that the My Disney Experience app is currently promoting to Guests:
Events to ring in the New Year At EPCOT, celebrate the night away on Dec. 31 with DJ dance parties around World Showcase. Enjoy “Harmonious” at 6:30 p.m. before “Cheers to the New Year: A Sparkling Celebration” kicks off its countdown at 11:54 p.m.
Move and groove at Disney’s Hollywood Studios with a high-energy DJ dance party in front of the Chinese Theater on Dec. 31. Dance into 2022 with a sizzling countdown moment!

At Magic Kingdom Park, get a jumpstart on your celebration on Dec. 30 with “Disney Enchantment” at 6:30 p.m. followed by “Fantasy in the Sky” at 11:50 p.m. Both fireworks spectaculars will also greet the new year at the same times on Dec. 31. To enter a Theme Park, both a valid admission and Theme Park reservation for the same Park and same date are required. Parks and park reservations are limited, subject to capacity and availability, and specific dates or Parks are not guaranteed. Entertainment is subject to change without notice.
